Establishment and Inauguration of the Japan-Yemen Parliamentary Friendship League
On Tuesday, June 11, 2024, the establishment and inauguration of the Japan-Yemen Parliamentary League took place at the Japanese House of the Representative- building No. 1. The event was attended by His Excellency Adel bin Ali Al-Sunaini, Ambassador of the Republic of Yemen to Japan, as well as several members of the Japanese Parliament and officials from the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs. During the inauguration, Honorable Kouzaburou NISHIME, a member of the Japanese Parliament, was elected as the President of the league, while Honorable Minoru KIUCHI became the Vice President. Additionally, Honorable Kei TAKAGI was appointed as the Secretary-General of the League.
Ambassador Al-Sunaini emphasized that the establishment of this association reflects the advanced and the distinguished levels of bilateral relations between the two friendly nations. He highlighted Yemen’s commitment to enhancing political, economic, and parliamentary cooperation with Japan, and the joint efforts towards achieving comprehensive, just, and lasting peace in Yemen, the region, and the world. He also emphasized the shared vision between the two countries on various regional and international issues, along with their common interests in economic openness and cultural dialogue.
